SPAWNING TIPS

It’s that time of year again when we should watch where we wade (if necessary). Trout are beginning to make their final preparations for the fall spawn. This means, as anglers, we should pay extra attention to where we’re wading and how the fish are behaving.

If you see these cleared-out areas (Redds) you should avoid them at all costs. These are the spawning areas of the next generation. We must do our best to protect the species we love and admire and let them do their thing without any interference. Do not target these areas especially if you see pairing fish together. And even after the spawn, do not walk or wade through these clearings as they continue the fertilization period through the winter months.

Good luck & tight lines!
